Well, since I do not live with the threat of a reformation camp, that excludes the "dog-collar" variety.

I am ashamed to say that the second type, with its pretensions and exclusiveness is most likely the case. The chauffeur notwithstanding...

"תָּעִינוּ תִּעְתָּעְנוּ" (taw'inu, titawnu) are usually translated as: "We went astray, We led others astray."

The composite sins that consume a life did not occur to me too late. I have time to rectify things in with you, with my brother's children, with my professional life.

In the spring and summer, I feel exhausted late afternoon when I am off, and then I awake with my second wind to work into the evening. Twelve and thirteen hours of daylight (excluding the days I work, which is like being submerged in a sub without diurnal cues) are more difficult for me than the short days of fall and winter.

We walked Atticus on the loop around Longview past the surgeon's house; the one that works with me. We pretend to not know each other; although, she was surprised thinking this three-year-old is mine. We saw the hellebores revived by the rain. I found a Sholom Aleichem collection of short stories with Chagall on the cover in a Little Library.

I will get this, sometime:

Sidney Reilly was the British spy fictionalized by Ian Fleming as 007 James Bond. Ayn Rand, Hyman Rickover and Stanley Kubrick to follow, perhaps.

I have a facsimile of the ornithologist, James Bond, whose Birds of the West Indies (1936) captivated Ian Fleming while staying in his estate, Goldeneye, Jamaica. Ann Fleming had a career of marriages and affairs of which Ian Fleming was the official third in line. I sometimes think that his wife's subterfuges drove the author to settle the score with his flying dutchman character, James Bond, who beds a lot of women.

Lucian Freud painted her portraits when she was young and not so young.
