Marga Gomez: Christmas with Cochina

I received a call from Valerie, my Latina roommmate. Ha, I can imagine her raising her now two-year-old daughter like this.

I had a black scarf like this, gifted from a flamenco dancer.

I did not have an aunt or grandmother comparable to this...the stricture was never in place for a silent, out-of-the-way child like myself.

Well, my grandmother was all etiquette, but she was rarely sober enough to observe Judith Martin, aka "Miss Manners."

I am not excessive about the rules-based teachings of etiquette as much for the underlying notion of maintaining consideration for someone.

Are you booking now, for the holidays? Perhaps the week before, and you could still see your family?

I received this in the mail, and I cannot say that I like it. Cate Le Bon really does sound like she is imitating Simon Le Bon of Rio (1982). I am assuming she is speaking to a man about her rival?

Despite humble and perhaps literally small beginnings, you inspire faith in almost everyone you know. You are an agent of higher powers, and you manifest this fact in mysterious and loud ways. A sense of destiny pervades your every waking moment, and you prepare with great detail for destiny fulfilled. When you speak, IT SOUNDS LIKE THIS!"
