A Test for Dependent Variables

What it requires is that you be supple,
Though not yet supplied with a set of values

You have a definite sense of doubt, and wave
The differences on, where, failing us, they reunite.

Many thanks to all the users who have
Pointed this out to us.

Mare's Nest

Once again, you find yourself awake and unruffled with your neck pain and nausea. Other days preceded this--a waltz of half-amusements and linguistic turns at decisive moments in a conversation between intimates. Now is a welter of honest self-reprisals and anxious pulsations addressed to the same...inmate? Such a person cannot completely fill her station as an unwelcome guest within the selective frames of magazine spread what with its sachets and pillow mints, a barrel body prostrate on a bed for tapping, decanting panther piss. She reacted, overexcited with grief, for being expected. This evening, to gain the wind.

Slow motion

Felix da Housecat's Sinnerman remix. The only song that plays fairly consistently in my head. The music video is rather repulsive, with the track of life and the seven deadly sins.

Nexus of Hexes: To Be Added

Six years ago, 2002, J was shown among three Foxcroft art students at the Byrne Art Gallery, and then forced into a psychiatric evaluation six months later.

Six hours ago, roughly, J replicated her SAT breakdown of verbal and quantitative scores on the GRE...which she will not forget that she has forgotten.

Six things on J's do-list: burn a CD, finish a novel, study for a final exam, make Giada's spicy tomato soup, reapply nail enamel...momentum moss, write a postcard and walk it to the post office.

Six of J's wishes for less: less evasive about personal encounters, less attuned to an empty house for strange noises, less astrologically inclined, less reckless about her personal safety, less reactive to moderately stressful situations, and less bogged down in the details of everyday living to make everything she wants.

Six of J's wishes for more: more independence, more confidence (one necessarily follows the other), more navigational ability, more classes in the order she wants to take them, more total abjection of her responsibilties in unplanned travel, and
more of another; specifically, her right cheek in the soapdish of J's left clavicle.

Six things J loves to eat: marinara, mango sorbet (the fruit with its fibers causes her mouth of swell), melon, sundried tomatoes, Kalamata olives, and crispy, tart apples.

Stephen Jay Gould - portrait/interview, 1984 (part 4 of 6)

I was thinking about Howard Gardner's eighth intelligence, that is, naturalistic intelligence. Who exemplifies this more than Stephen Jay Gould with his panda's thumbs, dinosaurs in haystacks? When I read Mismeasure of Man I think I hear Kurt Vonnegut...Unfortunately, his wittiness endears his writing to the layman more than his peers. I receive the same reception when I mention that I like
Jared Diamond...that at least the poor benighted populace is reading about science, but they will never get through the front door to the evolutionary biologists.

Allegory for...

The Nasal Turbinates

From here, my inland view of offshore
Fog off the water cuts a furrow up my face
And the waking memory is air, is arable,
In a sense--wafting up through three scrolls.

History heated and humidified, the drams of hours:
Cardamom, melted wax between your shoulders,
The smell of terrors now sealed in canopic jars.

I've caught the scent of the story, through you,
My case of promontory nerves, the strains of both
Even if its positively dark, where a moderate breeze
Carries the song, as if coiling through a dragon's nose.

"We floated in a world our sorrow made."

At times I think I am degrading into a depressive mute, for whatever reason. This is all that I have learned today, to know forever, rephrased in a sentence. Object: make it your own, and live again.

The antiseptic, anti-inflammatory thymol first discovered in bee balms, the resin of myrrh trees is now synthesized to heal eroded skin.

Then there is cardiac tamponade--out of the wasted syringes and surgical sponges there is serous fluid leaking out of the layers encapsulating the heart.

When she balanced on one foot, she thought, the bulging arcuate artery in her foot appeared avian.

Found object boxes reify the elements of our probing much like a materialist philosophy of the mind or song-containing, brainpan or voice box.

This evening was brought to me by a biofeedback mechanism until grief came riding...and I felt it enter in...

Some are missing one pair or some have an added pair, but most have two pair of costae spuriae, floating ribs.

Sent Items and No Openings

Someone, "J," realizes with the receiver to her ear.
Though J seizes you in weapon focus, she wants to cast her eyes on the zoetrope.
J reflects on the mask work in place to permit or block the light on S's multiple etched layers.
J fails to believe in the seemingly biological determinism of being, scheduled that way.
J confides that she could probably take a lot more out.

J also fails to find the answer in the text.
J muses at the extended reach of apparent groundlessness, a hotel on water or the floatel.

Eighteen Selectable Sounds of the Mellotron

"She rather despised herself now that the Ouija board part of her life had been put down."

"Another, in normlessness; and yes, just another evening with entropy and Earl Grey."

"Seeing blue: haint blue porch ceilings or a visual symptom of Viagra."
