IX. L’Hermite

IX. L’Hermite

For every blow or stitch, two sugars condense, and there is the creation
Of the first disparity—Hyaluronan is synthesized in the plasma membrane;
Booms the secret into water, and described by all these names and others
Every graze bleeds, explained for the benefit of a stranger—Hydrating
Her contact lenses; by comparison, I am indelicate, invoking cosmetic
Injectables—Most of which are never used, yet a feeling of rapid turnover

Remains, but for this tendency to cop a mortal thing, harness cell turnover—
Any examiner can appreciate the shifting compartments, the survival until creation
Is catalogued, and concentration assayed—Soothing applications of cosmetics
Comprise a skillful craft, as well as deception, of lantern slides forming a membrane.
Precisely that way, we trust that insensible perspiration on figured brocade, hydrating
Accretions of dust from the blooming night—For the moment, at least, the others

Could have walked through, unrecognized—Hyaluronate chains grow at another
Aldehyde group, or at an end capable of forming one; I am unsure of the turnover
Of moles of substrate converted by a mole of enzyme per second, if tissue hydration
Bypasses venous infusion, as in recombinant hyaluronidase, Hylenex
—What creation,
Tunneling through the pastoral enclosure of a joint space, the same biological membrane—
Fits the description of love’s effect on a person, in spite of the malevolent cosmetic

Condensed to the form of a shadow—Where the past loses its independence, cosmetic
Preparations, of facts—A large portion of hyaluronan never circulates; instead, another
Pathway through lymph drainage is proposed, for reuptake through the tough-membraned
Liver, and lymphatic counterparts, Kupffer cells—Lacking specific grave-mounds to turn over,
Consider it a weakness in myself, the keenest barbs of l’oeil trop ardent deflect creation.
But that keeps the chain extended—Separating agonal breathing from death rattle, hydrating

Such as the kind instilled after cataract operations; but then, for the takeaway—Hydrating
Serum hyaluronan, when removed from a swollen intra-articular space—Perhaps, a cosmetic
Injectable in another life—Eases morning stiffness, and preferable to initial torments of creation.
Fragmented hyaluronan accumulates during tissue injury; signal receptors transcend other
Subordinate roles under a surgeon’s straining drape, to serve as biomarkers of rapid turnover—
Of graft rejection, or systemic inflammation, given the weakness of our peeled membranes

While pursuing more beautiful versions of ourselves—Fluctuations and exile of membranous
Hyaluronan in the bone-modeling embryo oppose this lyrical dismemberment—One hydrating
Disaccharide is networked into coils; and at the moment of forbidden sight, where cell turnover
Is static in fluorescent wells—The terminal N-acetylglucosamine residue, for purposes non-cosmetic,
Where the main biological activity resides, stimulates humoral immune responses akin to other
Molecules of several million Daltons—Your repeated, nonspecific blazon differs in all creation

Being lifted from a Scope monograph; in sharp contrast, creations where muses’ membranous
Veils are clearly visible are turned over, to irreparable loss—It is not contempt for cosmetic
Divisions that I yield up hydrated text of the body’s colored inks, but the sweat preventing me from seeing them.

I am thinking of another physiology Card about the Pacinian corpuscles.

"Indeed, tactile specialist birds have a significantly higher proportion of mechanoreceptors in their trigeminal ganglia compared to visual foragers [35], and display a larger volume of the trigeminal nucleus, the brainstem region that perform the initial processing of sensory information from trigeminal LTMRs [36,37]. Consequently, in many of these specialist species, especially tactile-foraging ducks, the mechanosensory function of the bill can be considered equivalent to that of the human hand."
