I long suspected that the appeal of yoga to predominately white Western women is the loose religious overlay over an eating disorder, which is just fetishizing the body.

All the animal descriptions of the position; the aims at vacuity/holding space/mindfulness display the practitioner's body, now too old and inpliable for ballet, at its best advantage?
